Marx & Duffy, LLP represents clients in all aspects of family law matters, including marital dissolutions (divorce), domestic partnership dissolutions, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, property division, child custody, paternity and support. The firm has handled numerous high asset and complex divorces through both negotiation and litigation.

Richard M. Marx is a graduate of Stanford University and of the University of California Hastings College of the Law. He was admitted to practice in 1977 and has primarily engaged in the practice of family law since 1980. He has served as a Settlement Master and Pro Tem Judge in San Francisco and as a member of Bench/Bar Settlement Panels in Marin County.

Kevin A. Duffy has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 1983. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and University of San Francisco School of Law. Mr. Duffy is a recipient of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s 1996 Award of Merit, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ 1990 Preovolos Award and has served as chair for both the Bar Association of San Francisco Family Law Section and the State Bar of California Family Law Advisory Commission.

Both Mr. Marx and Mr. Duffy are certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as Certified Family Law Specialists. Both Mr. Marx and Mr. Duffy have the highest possible rating (“av”) from Martindale Hubbell legal directory. Mr. Marx and Mr. Duffy have each been named by Northern California Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in Northern California. Mr. Duffy is also a Fellow of the Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
